We love …

  • reasonable price
  • adjustable to fit mum and dad
  • nice quality
  • can be used as a baby hammock

In use …

The Minimonkey baby sling is really easy to use; once it’s adjusted to the right size you just slip it over your head and it’s ready to go. You can carry your baby in four different positions, banana for infants, kangaroo (off side sitting) or belly (front sitting) for babies from 3 months and hipster for toddlers.

The Minimonkey sling is well made from quality components. The cotton shell is strong but light, great for summer use. It’s easily washed if it gets dirty.

The function that differentiates the Minimonkey sling from other slings on the market is its adaptability as a baby hammock. This baby sling adjusts to fit across a standard sized cot, if you have a larger cot you can purchase an extender.

You can also use the Minimonkey baby sling for discreet feeding when you are out and about and the safety catch is a smart feature.

Consider this …

Some parents find the plastic clip on the side of the Minimonkey sling pushes into their neck. To prevent this, you can adjust the way you wear the sling and position the clip a little over your shoulder to prevent this from happening.

There are no safety standards for baby hammocks in Australia so it’s recommend that you don’t leave your baby unattended when using the Minimonkey (or any other sling/hammock) as a hammock.. Then, only use it for an infant who can not sit up or roll over and make sure there is plenty of ventilation around your baby’s head and face.

Finally, don’t suspend the sling too high above the cot mattress and always use the safety catch.

The verdict …
I’m impressed with the quality, design and value of the Minimonkey baby sling. It’s definitely one of the best value baby slings on the market.
