Both Mountain Buggy and phil&ted have just launched a baby capsule on the Australian market with more car seat options coming soon. Car seats from both brands have been available on overseas markets for years now, it’s great to see them finally arrive in Australia.
Mountain Buggy & phil&teds have made it easy for me to cover their new arrivals, basically because they’re both the same. For those of you who aren’t in the know, phil&teds took over Mountain Buggy a few years ago but have managed keep ranges aligned with the original brand.
It makes sense with the introduction of car seats, that they are effectively the same product, but with different colour ranges and different names to best match the products of each brand.
The first car seat to arrive on the Australian market is the Mountain Buggy protect and phil&teds alpha baby capsules, suitable for your infant up to 6 months (but may accommodate them until 10 months or so, dependant on their size).
Designed to be super light weight (3.8kgs) these capsules are click and go, so no need to fiddle with a car safety belt. They are also slimline so you can fit 2 other car seats in the back seat.
The Mountain Buggy protect comes in black & sand and is compatible with the Mini, Cosmopolitan, +one, swift, terrain and the urban jungle.
The phil&teds alpha comes in black & red is compatible with the smart, smart lux, classic, promenade, vibe and verve. The navigator and promenade with accommodate 2 alphas for your twins.
Both the protect and alpha are priced at $349.99, with extra bases priced at $149.99. Additional seat covers and rain & sun shades are also available as optional extras. Both baby capsules and accessories are available form your local or online Mountain Buggy/phil&teds stockists.
