In use …
The first thing you may notice about Breville’s latest personal blender is the quality of the parts and accessories.
The Blender base is sturdy and the drive socket has metal gears (see video). I have owned several blenders in my time and the plastic sockets inevitably grind away leaving the blender unusable.
The Boss to go Plus comes with 2 x 500ml Tumblers and 1 x 700ml Tumbler, plus a stainless steel grinding tumbler.
As opposed to other blenders on the market the Breville tumblers have a smooth top edge (unlike the external threads of other brands) allowing them to function as a stand alone cup without having to add the lid.
This is great if you want to make a simple smoothie and drink it direct from the tumbler without having to fix a lid to the top. The tumblers are also shatter proof and dishwasher safe and my favourite thing about them was that they are a great size to easily hold in your hand.
The Boss To Go™ Plus has a powerful 1000 watt motor. (even more powerful than it’s predecessor the Boss To Go at 800 watts).
The kinetix blending action of the blades draws the ingredients down and helps to blend your smoothies finer which allows you to blend a whole bunch of different fruit and veg to make awesome healthy smoothies.
The Boss To Go Plus also comes with a smoothie recipe book (Nurture Via Nature) which contains recipes and information on blending fruits and vegetables and loads of tips and tricks.
Check out my video review below where I made a very simple smoothie. I wanted to show how quickly The Boss To Go can make an ice-filled smoothie. I blended it for a total of 5 seconds and the ice was smooth!). If you allow the Breville to blend a little longer it can blend the toughest veggies to an amazing smooth consistency.
The verdict …
It is definitely worth spending a little more and investing in this quality blender. I have already gone through two smoothie blenders in the past 12 months which were cheaper options and just didn’t last. The quality of the Boss To Go Plus means it will definitely stand the test of time!
